I think we can all collectively agree that one of the best things to ever come out of Euphoria—aside from Zendaya's landmark Emmy win; *that* “I have never, ever been happier!” scene; and allllll of the iconic makeup looks we're still recreating in 2024—is Hunter Schafer's star power.
Ever since she came onto the scene after portraying Jules in the hit drama series, Hunter has been out here making waves in film and television, and was even recently featured in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Not to mention, she's practically fashion royalty at this point (like, chances are her face is currently plastered on a Prada ad at a billboard near you lol).
Though her projects are more well-known due to Hunter being extremely booked and busy, the actor has generally been more hush-hush about her private romances. In fact, during an interview with Harper's Bazaar Australia, the actor opened up about the reason why she hasn't had a large amount of romantic love in her life: “I haven't spent more than three or four years in the same city, except for Raleigh when I was growing up. But since then it’s been these little pockets of special, intense relationships. Parents and siblings, my first friends in New York, my first love.”

Dominic Fike (2022-2023)
Hunter and her Euphoria costar Dominic Fike originally sparked romance rumors in January 2022 after DeuxMoi posted a blind item about the actors being spotted holding hands that quite literally broke the internet.
Then, just a few days later, the account posted this 🤯 tidbit:
However, it wasn't until February 10, 2022, that the celebs seemingly confirmed the dating rumors themselves when Dominic posted a sweet pic of the two of them kissing alongside the caption, “Happy birthday happy birthday.”
Then in March, aka the following month, the two made their first red carpet appearance as a couple together at Vanity Fair's forever iconic Oscars after-party. Yes, they looked *chef's kiss*. No, we have yet to erase this appearance from our collective consciousness.
Fast-forward to May 2022, and the musician gushed about his then-girlfriend in a candid GQ interview where he detailed how he and Hunter formed an almost instant connection on the set of Euphoria. “In those moments, your relationship is accelerated because you're so vulnerable with someone, immediately,” he shared before adding, “Which usually takes a long time. Some people fall in love, like, f*cking months after they meet or years after. We developed an attraction—it sped it up so fast. We just really got to know each other so quickly.”
During the convo, Dominic also sweetly revealed that he would often visit Prada stores just to see Hunter's various ad campaigns. We're not crying, you are!!!
Hunter, for her part, opened up about the relationship during a February 2023 Elle UK interview and shared similar sentiments: “I think we are able to be a safety net for one another. I feel like I’ve been learning a lot about the effort it takes to upkeep it. Because it does, you know, especially in our world. But, to me, it’s deeply worth it.”
Sadly, however, the couple wound up splitting by that summer, with the breakup initially being confirmed in a July 5, 2023, Apple Music interview with Zane Lowe where the musician got candid about how he's “done being in relationships right now” due to his co-dependency issues, which resulted from his childhood and have impacted his romantic relationships.
When asked whether having Hunter around for Euphoria's third season would create somewhat of an awkward environment, Dominic mused, “I have a better dynamic with everybody. I mean, well, I don't know. Almost everybody...I think it'll be fine. We're all adults, kind of. I'm trying.”
The following day, a profile of Dominic in the Los Angeles Times was published that further solidified the news. During his convo with the outlet, the musician recalled, “When I had a girlfriend, we’d sleep over here. I could make music around her, which was crazy. I was looking through songs the other day and found one that I made with her.”
“I was like, 'Man, that was so cool.' But the fact of me saying that—of being uncomfortable being alone—that's a bad thing. So I decided to just be alone for a while,” he added.
Both Hunter and Dominic seem to be single at the moment, and while the hitmaker was the first to publicly speak about his life in the wake of the split, Hunter more recently shared exactly where she's at in an April 2024 interview with GQ.
“I'm still in some ways healing from the last thing,” the actor confessed, referencing her relationship with Dominic. “I want to make sure I'm good all the way before I jump into something else.” Elsewhere during the chat, Hunter said, “I had had so many shitty experiences with men before—not from dating them, but just in life. I think I had built up a wall that was way too thick around them. And then I fell in love.”
Fast-forward to an August 2024 interview on Alex Cooper's podcast Call Her Daddy, and Hunter divulged the actual reason she and Dominic called it quits: He reportedly cheated on her. “It's part of my truth, but [cheating] fundamentally changed me as a person. And it was this whole process of realizing that cheating has nothing to do with you at all,” she began before adding, “And it has everything to do with that person and whatever kind of pain they’re in or whatever they’re dealing with. It’s all of that, but it’s so hard.”

Back in February 2020, a Twitter user blessed us with a series of snaps of both Hunter and fellow model Massima Desire alongside the caption, “Hunter Schafer and her girlfriend Massima Desire.” Ahem:
In the time since, a buncha outlets—including People—have reported that the models were definitely linked in late 2020.
How-ev-er!!! Despite them looking incredible together and their chemistry seemingly being there, neither one of them has ever publicly commented on whether they were more than just friends. *Le sigh*
Rosalía (2019)
On April 2, 2023, Hunter dropped a literal bombshell confession via that aforementioned interview for GQ’s Creativity Issue when she confirmed that she and Rosalía were “once romantically involved” for five months in 2019.
And, yes, the vibe once the news came out was very much this:
“It's been so much speculation for so long,” Hunter said during the convo, adding that she'd spoken with her ex prior to confirming the news, which 🥺❤️. “Part of us just wants to get it over with, and then another part is like, 'It's none of anybody's f*cking business!' It's something I'm happy to share. And I think she feels that way too.”
Luckily for them (and us, tbh!), the actor and Grammy Award winner are still in contact and remain close. Per the outlet, “These days, they’re friends, which is something [Hunter] is proud of. They’ve been spotted around town recently, getting smoothies and testing out couches.” Hunter and Rosalía 🤝🏻 never not being iconic.
“I have really beautiful friendships with people that I was once romantically involved with,” the Euphoria star gushed about the musician before musing, “She’s family no matter what.”
