iPhone 16e was launched on Wednesday as the latest entry-level model from the Cupertino company. The newest model in the iPhone 16 series of smartphones sports a 6.1-inch OLED screen, and the same A18 chip. The new iPhone 16e also offers support for Apple Intelligence features, like the iPhone 15 Pro (launched in 2023) and the iPhone 16 series that was introduced last year. The iPhone 16e is is equipped with a single 48-megapixel rear camera and has a programmable Action Button.

iPhone 16e Price in India, Availability

iPhone 16e price in India starts at Rs. 59,900 for the base model with 128GB of storage, and the handset is also available in 256GB and 512GB storage configurations that are priced at Rs. 69,900 and Rs. 89,900, respectively.

Apple says the iPhone 16e will be available to pre-order starting February 21 and will go on sale on February 28. It will be sold in Black and White colourways.

The newly unveiled iPhone 16e is a dual SIM (Nano+eSIM) handset that runs on iOS 18. It sports a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR (1,170x2,532 pixels) OLED screen with a 60Hz refresh rate and 800nits peak brightness. The display also uses Apple's Ceramic Shield material for improved durability.

Apple has equipped the iPhone 16e with a 3nm A18 chip, which first arrived on the iPhone 16 in September 2024, paired with up to 512GB of storage. The company doesn't typically reveal the amount of RAM on its smartphones, but we can assume that it has 8GB of RAM, as it offers support for Apple Intelligence features.

There's a single 48-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS) on the iPhone 16e, and the handset also features a 12-megapixel TrueDepth camera on the front for selfies and video calls. It also includes the necessary sensors for Face ID, instead of the home button with Touch ID on the third generation iPhone SE.

You get stereo speakers on the iPhone 16e and the handset offers 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and GPS connectivity. It also offers support for Apple's Emergency SOS via satellite feature in select regions. Unlike its predecessor, it has a USB Type-C port, that supports 18W wired charging and 7.5W wireless charging.

Apple doesn't reveal the battery specifications of its smartphones, but these details are likely to emerge in the coming days, as part of device teardowns. The handset has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. It measures 146.7mmx71.5mmx7.8mm and weighs 167g.

This is history repeating itself, and Qualcomm may be feeling what Intel did in November 2020 when Apple released the M1 chip. In about a year's time, the elaborate Mac and iPad portfolios all switched to Apple Silicon, and Intel lost the Mac business for good. With good reason too, as the M-series chips set various benchmarks, including performance per watt. The Apple iPhone 16e, a truly compact iPhone (the iPhone SE was released in 2022 and the iPhone 13 mini in 2021), begins the era of Apple’s own cellular modem. The C1 modem replaces Qualcomm’s chips in the iPhone 16e, which will be priced starting from ₹59,900.

The iPhone 16e introduces a new naming scheme, but we believe it is logically a successor to the iPhone 13 mini, rather than the previous-generation iPhone SE. There’s, of course, the naming, which references the present iPhone 16 generation, extending that lineup. Secondly, the 6.1-inch screen size (with a ceramic shield coating for scratch resistance) is an upgrade over the iPhone 13 mini’s 5.4-inch screen and not really the 4.7-inch real estate of the last known iPhone SE. Then, there is processor parity with the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, featuring the 3-nanometer A18 chip. One could argue that the iPhone 16 already has a 6.1-inch screen, but that is where other specs influence the price and perceived value.

“iPhone 16e packs in the features our users love about the iPhone 16 lineup, including breakthrough battery life, fast performance powered by the latest-generation A18 chip, an innovative 2-in-1 camera system, and Apple Intelligence,” says Kaiann Drance, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing.

Apple says the iPhone 16e with the A18 chip is almost 40% faster than the 5-nanometer A15 Bionic in the previous-generation iPhone SE—and it should show a similar performance improvement compared to the iPhone 13 mini as well, which used a similar chip. In the iPhone 16e, the A18 features a 6-core CPU with 2 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores, a 4-core GPU with hardware-accelerated ray tracing (a significant upgrade for gaming), and a 16-core Neural Engine that is central to the Apple Intelligence experience.

On that note, Apple again confirms that in April, Apple Intelligence will extend native language support to include English (India), as well as more languages, including English (Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Chinese (Simplified), and Portuguese (Brazil).

Apple also confirms that in April, users will be able to update the primary iPhone language to multiple Indian languages—Bangla, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, or Urdu.

Since the iPhone 16e doesn’t have the Camera Control key that’s present on the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models, quick access to Apple Intelligence is integrated into the Action Key. You’ll have to make a choice between using it for AI features or quickly toggling between ring and silent modes as you enter a meeting. Other options include quick camera access, a flashlight, translator, voice memos, and magnifier.

The single camera implementation continues, as is typical for SE-series phones, but Apple insists this is a two-in-one camera system. The 48-megapixel Fusion camera allows for photo resolutions that are twice as high as what the previous generation could capture. You also have the option to take 48-megapixel photos. The 2x telephoto is integrated for zoom photos, eliminating the need for a second physical telephoto sensor. More parity with the iPhone 16 series is evident as the iPhone 16e can record 4K video with spatial audio, along with the In-frame, Studio, and Cinematic audio mix options for changing how videos sound.

This has to be the most versatile camera system ever in the most affordable iPhone.

It’s important to circle back to the cellular modem transition. Considering the iPhone refresh cycle is usually much simpler compared to Macs, we could find Qualcomm’s hardware gone once the next-generation iPhones arrive later this year. The reason is that Apple believes the experiences they are trying to deliver require purpose-built technology. That’s something Bob Borchers, VP of Worldwide Product Marketing at Apple, pointed out in an interview with *HT*, explaining that “you can turbocharge experiences when you have amazing purpose-built technologies that you can bring together,” and that chipmakers in general “need to think about kind of the lowest common denominator.”

सीकर, प्रदेश मे मुख्यमंत्री भजन लाल शर्मा के नेतृत्व में इलेक्ट्रिक वाहनों को बढावा देने के​ लिए इलेक्ट्रिक वाहन नीति के अन्तर्गत 200 करोड़ रूपये का ई-व्हीकल प्रमोशन फंड गठित किया गया है। राज्य सरकार की “इलेक्ट्रिक वाहन नीति-2022” के अन्तर्गत फेम-2 के दिशा निर्देशों के अनुरूप आधुनिक बैटरी युक्त इलैक्ट्रिक वाहनों के क्रेताओं को स्टेट जीएसटी राशि का पुनर्भरण एवं एकमुश्त अनुदान ई-व्हीकल प्रमोशन फंड में से दिये जाने का प्रावधान किया गया है। पुनर्भरण एवं एकमुश्त अनुदान राशि एक सितम्बर 2022 से क्रय किए गए एवं राज्य में पंजीकृत किये गये वाहनो पर देय होगा। वाहन का क्रय राजस्थान राज्य से ही किया जाना आवश्यक है। परिवहन एवं सड़क सुरक्षा विभाग के संयुक्त परिवहन आयुक्त जगदीश प्रसाद बैरवा ने बताया कि अनुदान के लिए सर्वप्रथम पॉलिसी के अन्तर्गत फेम 2 में पंजीकृत वाहन विनिर्माता को विभागीय पोर्टल पर रजिस्ट्रशन करवाना आवश्यक है। रजिस्ट्रेशन के बाद विभाग द्वारा सत्यापन किये जाने के पश्चात् निर्माता द्वारा पुनः पोर्टल पर फेम-2 के दिशा निर्देशों के अनुरूप आधुनिक बैटरी (Advanced Batteries like Lithum&ions) युक्त वाहन का मॉडल, बैटरी का प्रकार व बैटरी क्षमता की सूचना दर्ज की जानी है। पोर्टल पर उपरोक्तानुसार कार्यवाही के पश्चात् विभाग द्वारा वाहन का माडल, बैटरी का प्रकार व बैटरी क्षमता इत्यादि का सत्यापन किया जाकर वाहन क्रेताओं को पुनर्भरण एवं अनुदान राशि के क्लेम के लिए आवेदन के लिए वाहन पोर्टल पर अनुमत किया जाएगा। वाहन स्वामी द्वारा अपने वाहन के पंजीयन क्रमाक एवं चेसिस नंबर के अंतिम 5 अंक पोर्टल पर दर्ज होंगे। फिर आवेदक के मोबाइल नंबर पर एसएमएस के माध्यम से ओटीपी भेजा जाएगा। वाहन स्वामी अपने बैंक खाते का विवरण को बैंक के दस्तावेज़ जैसे पासबुक फ्रंट पेज,रद्द किए गए चेक के साथ अपलोड करेगा, फिर आवेदन सबमिट करेगा। अनुदान राशि का सीधे ही वाहन स्वामी के खाते में हस्तांतरण कर दिया जायेगा। प्रोत्साहन के लिए इलेक्ट्रिक वाहनों की संख्या प्रत्येक श्रेणी के लिए दी गई सीमा के अनुसार होगी। संबंधित वाहन विनिर्माता, वाहन डीलर्स व वाहन क्रेता अनुदान राशि प्राप्त करने के लिए यथा शीघ्र पोर्टल आवेदन किया जाना सुनिश्चित करें।

LP Live, Muzaffarnagar: वाणिज्यिक इलेक्ट्रिक वाहन (ईवी) विनिर्माता कंपनी खालसा ई-व्हीकल्स ने इलेक्ट्रिक थ्री-व्हीलर लूका को लांच किया। एडीएम प्रशासन नरेंद्र बहादुर सिंह ने इलेक्ट्रिक थ्री-व्हीलर लांच करने साथ कंपनी के स्वामियों को प्रोत्साहित किया। इसके जिले के लिए बड़ी उपलब्धि बताया है।

खालसा ई-व्हीकल्स ने इलेक्ट्रिक थ्री-व्हीलर लांच कार्यक्रम किया, जिसका शुभारंभ एडीएम प्रशासन नरेंद्र बहादुर सिंह ने बताया कि निर्माता कंपनी के प्रबंधक शिवम नारांग ने बताया कि अभी तक वह मुजफ्फरनगर में ई-रिक्शा निर्माण करते थे, पहली बाद लुका नाम से थ्री-व्हीलर लांच किया है। उन्होंने बताया कि लूका एल-5 तिपहिया थ्री-व्हीलर है, जिसकी हाई-स्पीड लिथियम-आयन बैटरी 200 किमी की रेंज देती है। इसे पूरी तरह से चार्ज होने में केवल चार से पांच घंटे लगते हैं। इलेक्ट्रानिक थ्री-व्हीलर बनाने के लिए एडीएम ने कंपनी के प्रबंधक शिवम नारांग का उत्साह वर्धन किया।

नई दिल्ली रेलवे स्टेशन पर शनिवार रात मची भगदड़ में 18 लोगों की मौत हो गई है जबकि कई लोग घायक भी हुए हैं। घायलों का इलाज एलएनजेपी अस्पताल में चल रहा है। भगदड़ की यह घटना नई दिल्ली रेलवे स्टेशन के प्लेटफॉर्म 14 और 15 पर रात 10 के करीब हुई। बताया जाता है कि प्लेटफॉर्म पर अचानक से भीड़ उमड़ पड़ी। इस भीड़ में ज्यादातर लोग महाकुंभ स्नान के लिए जा रहे थे। ऐसे में अगर आप भी महाकुंभ नहाने जा रहे हैं और भगदड़ जैसी परिस्थियों से बचना चाहते हैं तो जान लें क्या करें और क्या न करें।

शांत रहें: भगदड़ में फंसने पर घबराना नहीं चाहिए। शांत रहने से आप बेहतर तरीके से सोच पाएंगे और सही निर्णय ले पाएंगे।
